Description
Introduction to Fused Glass Workshop
Discover the art of fused glass in this inspiring 1-day workshop, perfect for beginners and those with some previous experience. Learn the fundamentals of kiln-fired glass art while creating your own unique fused glass projects in a relaxed and supportive studio environment.
During the workshop, you’ll explore a variety of glass fusing techniques, including cutting, shaping, layering, and assembling glass to bring your designs to life. You’ll gain an understanding of the different types of glass fusing and how they are used to create decorative and functional pieces.
Choose from a vibrant selection of coloured glass, frits, stringers, dichroic glass, and glass paints to personalise your creations. Working at a comfortable pace, you’ll have the opportunity to make:
- A contour-fused glass picture ready for framing
- A decorative fused glass suncatcher
- A dichroic glass pendant or keyring
- A set of four fused glass coasters
Once completed, your pieces will be kiln-fired in a specialist glass kiln at temperatures of up to 800°C, transforming the individual elements into beautiful finished artworks. Firing takes several hours, and collection details will be provided during the workshop.
Whether you’re looking to try a new craft, develop your creative skills, or create handmade glass gifts, this fused glass workshop offers the perfect introduction to the exciting world of glass fusing.

After attending a few of Gigha’s workshops I was hooked! Gigha is an inspiring and very creative stained glass artist who loves to share her skills. There are workshops to suit all abilities and you always leave with something amazing after Gigha’s expert tuition. Studio time sessions are a great place for creativity, friendship and fun! It’s a great community to be part of!

I have just completed the Fused Glass course and found the whole experience a delight. Gigha was an excellent tutor – patient, clear in her instructions and advice, keen to pass on her expertise and enthusiasm, and happy to provide plenty of design ideas. The variety of glass and embellishments available to students was exceptional, with none of the “rationing” I have experienced elsewhere. The environment was safe, with current H&S requirements well thought-out. Lunch and endless refreshments were well catered for. I’ve already booked another course, and intend to do them all!

Just love these workshops, so much so that I have done 6 now! The studio has been adapted really cleverly to make everything covid secure. Gigha is so welcoming and such a patient teacher, who also makes a great lunch and keeps the refreshments flowing.
It’s wonderful to spend a whole day immersed is something creative, my only issue is that they are so popular they get booked up quickly 😉
A well deserved success and highly recommended.
